ARTIST STATEMENT
Maps as a metaphor for finding our place both physically and mentally have been the focus of my interest in recent years. When trying to find orientation in an unknown place, you often find a signpost with a red dot showing where you are. It serves as a point of reference which I use as a metaphor for searching for identity.
