MEMBERS CHALLENGE Call for Entry
The Members Challenge is an opportunity for members of all skill levels to exhibit their talent at the museum. Occurring three times a year, we challenge our community to design 12″ by 12″ textile art based on a theme. This challenge is reserved for members. Contracts for member participants to print, complete, and bring with their submissions are available below for 2027 events.
Flower Power
Exhibition Dates: October 24 – November 28, 2026
Description: The theme “Flower Power” can channel botanical themes, the 1960s counter-culture movement, or both! The term originates from Allen Ginsberg, who suggested that flowers be distributed during protests as a way to advocate for peace, love, and non-violent resistance to war and suppression.

Red
Delivery Date to the Museum: January 13, 2027 – January 16, 2027
Exhibition Date: January 30, 2027 – March 27, 2027
Description: Red is a powerful color with countless connotations. In China, red symbolizes luck and prosperity, often used to ring in Lunar New Year. Emotionally, red is also associated with anger, love, and passion. In Victoria Findlay Wolfe’s Option Expedition exhibition occurring alongside this member’s challenge, she utilizes red to create a striking visual impact.

Revitalize
Delivery Date to the Museum: May 19, 2027 – May 22, 2027
Exhibition Date: June 5, 2027 – August 7, 2027
Description: A Common Thread, an exhibition curated in tribute to renowned textile artist Sue Canavaugh, features her posthumous artwork revitalized by contemporary textile artists. We invite you to revitalize as well by incorporating at least one textile or embellishment with special meaning to you. Share its sentiment in our museum alongside this wonderful Sue Cavanaugh exhibition or in its new home if purchased.
