Focus Fiber

Focus Fiber is an oasis community with positive intentions of mutual support. The group meets regularly to share current work and to offer and receive constructive feedback. Comprised of VMOTA members who are actively working in fiber and textile materials and techniques, the participants support each other in the artistic process. To share one’s art can feel daunting; the Focus Fiber group is a place where artists may practice bravery in personal expression.

Focus Fiber is open to all VMOTA members who would like to share finished works or receive critique of works in progress. The group values its open and positive attitude and active listening. Members speak from good intentions, and artists are free to accept or reject feedback. What’s on the table is always nourishing food for thought!

May Focus Fiber: Cinco de Mayo Potluck

Time & Location: 10 am – noon; RSVPs are required, and members can reach out to info@vmota.org for the address.

Potluck attendees, please bring toppings for salad / tacos or cookies. Tortillas, lettuce, and beverages will be provided.

We will continue our discussion from the March meeting about our garment/fabric memories. Please bring a garment or fabric item (or picture of) that is a cherished heirloom to share and discuss. Also bring items that you are working on and would like to share. RSVP is required to Kathy 619-855-5006. Carpooling recommended.
