ARTIST STATEMENT
I am interested in the many ways city people may get connected. The street network and the public transportation system all assist this literally, while the internet, as an essential part of twenty-first century life, provides virtual help. In this work, I layered these structures and used various materials implying their ages to support the idea. I created an assembled city map.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES
Cotton, painted newspaper, computer keyboard, IC films, and organza.
Cut, layered, fused, and machine-stitched.
