Because history is important to me, I chose to write about it as my celebration of the 100th year of women’s suffrage. The words of the 19th Amendment, a grand tour de force, are brushed onto parchment-like cloth in the midst of which stands the silhouette of a representational suffragist of the era. To her right, she looks at a time-line of events written in small black letters. The time-line begins with the 1776 plea from Abigail Adams to her husband to “remember the ladies” when writing the Declaration of Independence.
