ARTIST STATEMENT

Some fabrics are hard for quilters to cut because they love them so much. Imagine cutting a rose at the peak of bloom. It will not remain the same for long after cutting it. This was the case with the main textile quilt. Sisterly Love was inspired by the vertical arrangement of beautiful ladies in the primary fabric. The motifs were cut intentionally, framed and appliquéd onto the Bargello design. It was quilted with double hearts to represent sisterhood.
