ARTIST STATEMENT
Named for a historic amusement park in Rye, NY, Playland is where I spent many magic hours. “Playland #5” portrays the excitement of entering the park and exploring the midway – turning an ordinary day into a best-ever day with all the fun that awaits. It’s about deciding which rides to go on and what games to play. It’s also about friendships, first kisses, and laughter.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES
Commercial and hand-dyed cotton, and silk batting.
Improvisational design, machine-pieced, and longarm-quilted.
