Katrina is a seasoned nonprofit leader with over a decade of experience in operations, program administration, and community partnership building. As Executive Director of VMOTA, she is passionate about using textile arts as a bridge to connect people, celebrate diverse perspectives, and inspire meaningful dialogue. With a background in leading humanitarian and cultural initiatives, Katrina has supported organizations through thoughtful strategy, mission-driven leadership, and a deep commitment to collaboration. She is SHRM-certified, holds a Master’s in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care, and strives to cultivate long-term partnerships that enrich communities and elevate the power of art to tell stories that matter.

Lauryn is a visual artist with a teaching background. While working as a Curatorial and Education Assistant at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art, Lauryn fell in love with museums as cultural institutions. Lauryn’s passion for the arts along with her experience in education coordination makes the Visions Museum of Textile Art the perfect place to call home. When she is not painting, Lauryn enjoys swimming in the ocean, eating delicious food, and being active.

Joel is a marketing professional who has worked in various industries over the past 20 years ranging from technology to consumer goods and medical to government contracts with companies like Buck Knives and Cosmetic Laser Dermatology. He is currently the marketing and communication specialist at Cygnet Theatre. His experience and skills will take VMOTA’s marketing, social media, and public relations to the next level.

Formerly the Galleries Director of Baja Califonia Culture’s Institute and the Deputy Director of Exhibitions at the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT), Armando is an experienced and dedicated professional in the world of fine arts. After graduating with a degree in architecture from the Western Technological and Higher Studies Institute (ITESO) of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Armando founded and directed the Rio Rita Art Gallery and Cultural Association in addition to serving as the Deputy Director of the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture (IMAC) in Tijuana, BC.

Jane comes to VMOTA after many years in two fields of design, theatrical set design and website development. Prior to working at the Museum, she launched The William & Ruby Hinson Photo Archive, a website developed to exhibit a personal collection of 1000+ slides, as well as sites for local artists and entrepreneurs, including textile artist Heather Urquhart. She has a B.A. in Philosophy & Mathematics from Yale University, an M.F.A. in Set Design from Virginia Tech, and Certifications I & II in Front End Web Design from San Diego College of Continuing Education.
