ARTIST STATEMENT

The vessel “Pacifica” symbolizes the rapidly dimin-ishing livelihood of the single commercial fisherman. With the deleterious effects of rising water tem-perature, pesticide runoff, radiation mutation from Fukishima, oil spills, and continued silting of the ports and harbors, not to mention historical over-fishing, the future of this way of life is bleak.
