ARTIST STATEMENT

When it comes to the ocean, my favorite thing is the aquatic life inside. I’m fascinated with sea creatures like sharks, rays, octopi, and all kinds of fish. With the challenge being ocean related, I decided I wanted to do a fun, kind-of cute sort of imagery of sea creatures. This challenge seemed to reflect on keeping the oceans clean, and when we do that, sea life is much better off. The idea of sea creatures being safely able to navigate the oceans without having to worry about debris and trash is so wonderful. My design has a cluster of some content sea life in their lovely clean environment, the way the ocean “should” be.
