ARTIST STATEMENT
These three landscape quilts reflect the dynamic scenery in Jokulsarlon with the glaciers in the distance. Icebergs are constantly calving to create dynamic scenes as they stay trapped in the bay before they can melt to be small enough to go out to the sea or drift onto the shore.
MATERIALS
A collage of landscape photos transferred onto cotton ( acrylic medium method), layered and machine quilted. Copper paint and metal shim added to reflect ‘melt’. Mounted on canvas for dimension
