Making Waves:

Textiles Addressing Sustainability

featuring the artwork of the San Diego Mesa College Fashion Program

February 23 – April 11, 2021

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

The Fashion Program of Mesa College is pleased to present a collection of textile prints designed by current and past fashion students. Participants were challenged with creating a fabric based on the theme of sustainability, which could be designed using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or similar design programs. Students performed research and found inspiration that they felt spoke to the theme. A group of designs was then chosen by a committee and the fabrics were printed digitally by Spoonflower in North Carolina. Appropriate to the theme, all designs were printed on organic cotton.

Thank you to The Humanities Institute at Mesa College which supported the printing costs of the fabric through a grant.
