ARTIST STATEMENT

My fiber series emphasizes minimalistic and meditative properties. I begin by wrapping the piece with mass produced bra and corset, making hook and eye tape and then combine that with hand-sewn threads between the elements, to create intricate patterns and grid designs. The works also make statements, speaking metaphorically, about restrictions and constrictions put upon different genders and races throughout history and in society today.
