ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
My sculptures are tactile, helping to evoke the senses, inspired by life and nature with their earthy, organic forms and materials.
My process starts as a global treasure hunt, searching for the finest local, 100% natural fibers and other precious finds.
I create as I travel, immersing myself in each country’s beauty, conveying my experience in each piece. Stitch by stitch, coil by coil, my international fibers are methodically woven by hand and needle, taking weeks to months to create.
Back in my studio, creating with other media to unify with my global fibers allows me to further express and give a unique take on traditional fiber techniques and other media.
Weaving imitates life: sometimes bumpy, sometimes smooth, when woven together, you can see and feel the beauty, the growth.
Each sculpture is my way of helping us connect, feel, and display “A Piece of the World – A Piece of You.”
Sophisticated. Earthy. Elegant.
