ARTIST STATEMENT

This piece is a somewhat whimsical take on the “magic” of recycling. I wanted to touch on the concept that the sustainable practice of recycling makes it possible to create new and exciting things from that which is no longer useful. Instead of being put in a landfill, a plastic bottle can instead become an endless number of new items if we take the initiative to recycle it in lieu of throwing it in the trash.
