ARTIST STATEMENT
I used entirely recycled materials to point out the terrible amount of pollution caused by the textile industry, and its effect on global warming. There is a stark beauty to our parched reservoirs, but the threat to our very existence is obvious. We have to think about our life style and figure out a way to make better choices.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES
Recycled t-shirts and sheets (backing), tulle, poly thread, and bamboo batting.
Freehand cut raw-edge collage and freehand machine quilting.
