ARTIST STATEMENT
Living far away from my home territory for so long, winter seems like a dreamland. I was thinking about the way not all the leaves fall off an oak tree before the snow falls. Some of the hardiest leaves manage to hang on deep into the winter. I programmed the quilting to imitate a blizzard, or perhaps pine needles in the snow.

Machine pieced and appliquéd.
