ARTIST STATEMENT
This piece tells the story of the some of the many changes I have observed in the tundra pond that is just outside my living room window. The changes are depicted from left to right. Over 50 short years the water level has dropped precipitously, sediment has built up on the bottom of the pond, the sedge mat has grown in all around the edges of the pond, and the predominant species of ducks have changed from diving ducks to puddle ducks. Arctic terns on the right and migrating flocks of red necked grebes no longer seen today are indicated by whitish ghost images.
