ARTIST STATEMENT

A pair of golden eagles has nested in the Polychrome Slide area of Denali National Park for many years. The pair has regularly been disturbed as the Park Service has tried to keep the road open for tourist traffic. Warm rain has accelerated the severity of the slide closing the road in late season 2020 for an indeterminate number of years.
