ARTIST STATEMENT

Unaffordable Housing III: No Way Out is one of a series expressing my concern about the housing crisis. I began this series in 2018 when I read about how developers creating high density housing in urban areas were upending neighborhoods, driving people into homelessness. The pandemic has truly exacerbated this heartbreaking crisis. Families have lost their homes, forced to live in overcrowded conditions, trapped by economic inequality, injustice and lack of adequate health care. The lack of a safe, secure home severs our connection with each other and our community. Is there no way out?
