ARTIST STATEMENT
Art, and life, gain energy when the unexpected happens. While music wasn’t my intent, as I worked I became aware of musicality emerging. Syncopation started with a fundamental triangular rhythm in the initial layers of paint. Later, I returned to the work to paint big, fluid movements. Gestural stitch bridges the pattern to the movement.
