ARTIST STATEMENT

Woodland Stream, Early Spring is derived from a photo by Sarah Entsminger, used with her permission. Sarah captured a small woodland stream, and I loved the image. I wanted the challenge of trying to convey the texture of the rocks, but especially the moss on many of them. The movement of the stream was also an important factor.   

MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES

Materials: Hand-dyed cottons fabrics and commercial batiks. 

Techniques: Raw edge fused and machine quilted.
