ARTIST STATEMENT

Gentle curves flow across the surface of this composition.  The monochromatic use of numerous blue fabrics keeps the eye moving across the piece from top to bottom.  As the water hits the rocks, spray floats up and dances in the air, represented by appliquéd circles. Can you feel the cool water flowing around you?  It is a very refreshing experience. 

MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES

Materials: Commercial cottons and hand dyed fabrics. 

Techniques: Machine pieced, hand appliquéd circles. Free motion quilting on a domestic machine.
