ARTIST STATEMENT
“Tapestry of Hues: Vida Fronteriza” was inspired by the shapes and lines found at the border between Tijuana and San Diego, especially at the pedestrian crossings that allow people to move from one side to the other. The design of the tapestry reflects the geometry of these border structures, where lines and shapes intertwine dynamically. Each knot and every color in the fabric represents the interconnection between both cities. It is a tribute to the cultural and human richness that arises from the interaction between two countries.
“Tapestry of Hues: Vida Fronteriza” fue inspirada por las formas y líneas que se encuentran en la frontera entre Tijuana y San Diego, especialmente en los cruces peatonales que permiten cruzar de un lado a otro. El diseño del tapiz refleja la geometría de estas estructuras fronterizas, donde las líneas y formas se entrelazan de manera dinámica. Cada nudo y cada color en el tejido representa la interconexión entre ambas ciudades. Es un tributo a la riqueza cultural y humana que surge de la interacción entre dos países.
