ARTIST STATEMENT
Venice has been flooding regularly for most of its existence. In recent years, the floods have been dramatically exacerbated by sea level rise due to climate change. This tapestry depicts a Vaporetto (like a water taxi) stranded on a pier due to intense flooding.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES
Wool, mylar, cotton.
Handwoven, discontinuous brocade.
