ARTIST STATEMENT

The theme of Inside Out in this piece relates to the screen printing. I printed on both sides of the muslin. In waxing the surface of the muslin, the cloth becomes translucent, both sides of the printed elements appear on the surface. Twizzle is a nonsensical word meant to invoke playfulness and whimsy. The colors, dots and circle patterns reinforce this concept of fun. I thought of circus acts and a carnival atmosphere.
