ARTIST STATEMENT

I have worked with images from one of the photographers who was local to me, John Slot, and he sent me this image to interpret. It looked like a challenge, with so many details of the rock strata of the Grand Canyon. The beauty of the late afternoon sun reflecting off the Colorado river, and casting its light drew me in.  

MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES

Materials: Hand dyed cotton fabrics and commercial batiks. 

Techniques: Raw edge fused and machine quilted.
