ARTIST STATEMENT
I chose to do this subject because in the neighborhood where I lived there were a lot of cows. There was a man named Little Jean in the neighborhood who had many. The way he used to treat them was like his own children. And they understood him when he spoke to them. I saw a drawing in a calendar that reminded me of this man and his cows. That is where I got my inspiration. I was always looking at the cows so I could paint them well, then I copied the design for my quilt. This quilt is much larger than most of my other quilts and it took a very long time to complete and required more reflection.
Lè sa a, mwen kopye desen an pou tablo mwen an. Tablo sa a pi gwo pase pifò lòt tablo mwen yo e li te pran yon tan trè long pou konplete epi li te mande plis refleksyon.
