ARTIST STATEMENT

These two Mercurys seemed to be almost kissing. From afar the image didn’t peak my interest. But, getting up close and personal the shapes of the lights, the housing around them, and the contrast in colors captured my interest. It seemed that the distance between the cars mirrored the distance people can have with each other if one, or both are stuck in place and unable to move closer.

Parchment paper, light fusible web, organza, metallic acrylic paint, markers, paint pens, water-soluble ink block, wool batting, cotton backing
