ARTIST STATEMENT

Sea Sisters reflects my affinity to the oceans. The colors reflected by the oceans in sunshine on the surface, as well as the filtration of light through the water, are magical and represent multiple colors in the blue green range of the spectrum. My joy and my happiest place are the ocean and the life it sustains. 

MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES

Materials: Commercial cottons, beading, embroidery, cotton batting. 

Techniques: Machine strip pieced, fused appliqués, hand embroidery, and free motion quilted on a domestic machine.
