Rust is the New Orange

ARTIST STATEMENT
I think this piece is my favorite, or at least one of them. I love the complimentary colors of orange and blue playing off of each other. By this time I started to have more of a handle on how to manipulate the fan brush for the pine needles to create more of a sweeping rhythm. There is more movement with the brush stroke in this piece. The undulating lines of the needles carry the eye up, around, and off the piece.
