ARTIST STATEMENT

River Rocks is derived from a photo by Ken Miracle, with his permission. I was drawn to this image by the beauty of this intimate landscape. I wanted to try and capture the texture and feel of the river rocks, their reflection, as well as the reflection of the setting sun glittering over the movement of the river. 

MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES

Materials: Hand dyed cotton fabric and commercial batiks. 

Technique: Machine quilted with mixed media.
