ARTIST STATEMENT
Watching the water illuminating and moving in the light at sunset was the focus for this piece as well as the playfulness of highlights and shadows.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES
Silk habotai, silk cotton sateen, cotton back, lace, and wool batting; metallic, polyester, and cotton thread; textile paint, ink, and aluminum organza binding.
Hand painted silk ground (habotai and sateen), raw edge appliqué, and machine free-motion embroidery.
