Quilt Visions 2024: A Celebration of Artistry, Imagination, and Human Connection

Visions Museum of Textile Art proudly presents Quilt Visions 2024, our 25th international juried exhibition, showcasing the finest examples of contemporary art quilts from around the world. This year’s collection celebrates the exceptional skill, creativity, and personal expression of each artist, reflecting the museum’s enduring commitment to elevating textile arts as fine art.

Quilt Visions 2024 offers an exploration into the limitless possibilities of textile artistry, challenging both our technical and artistic imaginations. The quilts in this exhibition stretch the boundaries of what fabric and thread can achieve, captivating us with intricate techniques and bold creative visions. Each quilt tells a distinctive story, whether through intricate portraitures, vibrant explorations of cultural heritage, or depictions of the natural world’s breathtaking beauty.

More than just displays of technical mastery, these quilts invite us to engage deeply with themes that resonate on a personal and collective level. Through their work, the artists explore identity, our connections with one another, and the stories of fellow humans. Some quilts confront the consequences of catastrophe and environmental impact, prompting reflection on our relationship with the world and each other. Others celebrate cultural preservation or offer playful explorations of color and form, bringing joy and vibrancy to the exhibit.

Chosen from hundreds of submissions, the quilts in Quilt Visions 2024 were selected by Caryl Breyer Fallert-Gentry, Karl Reichert, and Sandra Sider, a panel of esteemed jurors, for their artistic expression, technical skill, and aesthetic impact. The exhibition features an extraordinary range of styles and perspectives, yet every piece shares a common thread: a dedication to the art quilt as a vehicle for storytelling and personal expression.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the artists who submitted their work and to the jurors who faced the challenge of selecting this year’s remarkable collection. Congratulations to those whose quilts are featured in this celebration of creativity, artistry, and the power of textiles to inspire.
