ARTIST STATEMENT
Sunsets over the Pacific Ocean in winter are spectacularly beautiful. This view of the Oceanside Pier at sunset proves this point. We see the gorgeous colors of the sky as the sun slips down out of view, the sparkle of the shimmering lights on the pier, and the sparkling highlights in the blue ocean water made by the fading sun. All of these highlights contrast with the dark shadows of the sand and of the iconic California palm trees. A magical moment in time to witness.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES
Fused raw edge appliqué. Machine quilted.
Cotton fabrics, organza, baby rick rack, Jaquard metallic paint, various polyester, cotton, metallic threads, and bamboo batting.
