ARTIST STATEMENT
This total improv miniature quilt utilizes many shapes and colors as inspiration. In 2022, I set out to move away from traditional quilting and more towards improv quilting, which took a reset in the way I think about color, shapes, and flow. Thus, this quilt is a “new beginning” for me, working mostly with very bright colors and just a few print fabrics to add depth and movement to the quilt.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES
Cotton fabrics, batting, and thread.
Curve and improv piecing, machine quilting, and facing.
