ARTIST STATEMENT
In the last months of our occupation of Afghanistan, I felt as if our country had been inspired by the ancient words of Thrasymachus: “….the just is nothing else than the advantage of the stronger….” My belief is that being guided by this idea always leads to disaster.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES
Machine pieced and appliquéd. I made this quilt of pairs of images, with one of each pair larger. The quilting design is Athenian helmets.
Wool, cotton and small objects.
