ARTIST STATEMENT
He watched their fluid forms
slicing through the night
racing the boat
racing each other
sleek forms sheathed
light
As I rarely work with monochromatic color schemes, this project made me realize how much I depend on the interaction of hues to convey emotion and narrative.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES
Materials: Commercially printed cotton fabric, dupioni silk, silk charmeuse, polyester taffeta, nylon satin, recycled clothing, cotton batik, polyester poplin, cotton thread, polyester thread.
Techniques: Machine pieced, machine quilted.
