ARTIST STATEMENT

Microbes are all around us making life possible through symbiotic interactions. They are micro-scopic, single-celled organisms like bacteria and fungi. Although they are often associated with dirt and disease, most microbes are beneficial. I am interested in making the unseen world of the building block organisms that make life possible visible.

Hand-dyed and commercial cotton, commercial perle cotton, various synthetics, polyester thread
