ARTIST STATEMENT

This piece was one of the first ones where I experimented with translucent, airy works. Drawings of dyed strings were arranged next to fabric cuttings and a cutout of a city map. The shadow from the lacy detail adds an extra layer to the spectacle.  

MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES

Materials: Cotton fabric, commercial and hand-dyed by the artist; perle cotton embroidery thread. 

Technique: Machine and hand stitched.
