Kathleen McCabe Lecture: My Life in Art Quilts
Snapshots of Guatemala Highlands artist Kathleen McCabe discusses her life in art quilts
Kathleen McCabe learned to sew clothes in the fifth grade, and her skills evolved as she learned to express herself using fabric and thread. She has been creating art quilts for more than 35 years; and her work has been exhibited in Quilt National (2009, 2013), Quilt Visions (2016), and has been included in numerous national and international shows and publications.
Kathleen will talk about “My Life in Art Quilts” and illustrate her narrative with a slide presentation of more than 60 of her art quilts. Her presentation is personal and humorous, and several samples of her actual quilts will also be shown.
