ARTIST STATEMENT

As a child, we spent summers at our cabin in the redwoods of Northern California.  In addition, we had a large Mulberry tree in our backyard.  Those two experiences have highly influenced my love of trees and the attraction to the color yellow green. Working on this project has made my heart sing. 

MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES

Materials: Cotton fabric, embroidery thread, beads, and fabric paint. 

Techniques: Origami folding, painting, stenciling, machine stitching, hand stitching, embroidery.
