ARTIST STATEMENT
In this collage, my brother Glen is shown holding a toy rifle. In the background is a watch tower. There were seven watch towers with armed guards surrounding the camp. Warnings were given to the internees to stay away from the 4’ barbed wire fences. One internee was shot and killed as he got too close to the fence. How does a mother explain to her young son what these watch towers were and for what purpose?
