ARTIST STATEMENT

Working with subtle variations in color and value, I piece together fabric to create engaging compositions which evoke emotion. Cosmic Winds integrates a variety of piecing techniques. Strip piecing, resulting in ¼ inch wide lines, form the sky. The bursting blue forms are constructed from hexagonal units, while the red and black “cityscape” is composed of leftover strip pieces, unused units, and newly created small details combined with solid colors. The gray wheel of change emerging on the lower right combines a variety of piecing techniques.
