Support those impacted by the L.A. Fires by doing what we do best – creating!

Visions Museum of Textile Art has an open call for textile art pieces (12”x12”) that will be donated to individuals who lost their homes in the recent fires. It is unimaginable to comprehend the extent of loss and grief that our neighbors are experiencing in addition to losing their home structure, from family heirlooms to artwork to basic necessities, countless memories, and so much more. Join us in bringing a sense of welcome as they move into new places to call home. Each piece that is collected will be sent to Los Angeles for distribution to fire victims through a free lottery system to help with fair distribution.

Theme: United We Stand

Let’s remind our neighbors that the city of San Diego stands with them as they endure this difficult transition. Together we are stronger.

Types of Artwork: All textile art mediums will be accepted. Please keep your piece to 12” x 12”.

Mail or Drop-Off Your 12” x 12” Textile Artwork: Visions Museum of Textile Art, 2825 Dewey Rd. Suite 100 San Diego, CA 92106. Mailed pieces should include this line after the address – “Memo: United We Stand: L.A. Fire Support.”

Our office hours are Wednesday-Thursday from 10 AM to 2 PM and Friday-Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM.

All donated pieces must arrive to our museum by April 9th, 2025 to be included.

How to receive an art piece

If you lost your home, or your home was determined toxic due to high levels of asbestos from the recent Los Angeles fires, please email info@vmota.org to retrieve your free lottery number by April 3rd, 2025. If we do not have enough donated items to match the interest, lottery numbers will be selected through a random number generator by April 16th, 2025, and all participants will be notified.
