Paola Avalos was born in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She pursued a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design at the University of Guadalajara. Between 2000 and 2003, she participated in an academic exchange program and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) at Columbia College in Chicago, USA. Her interest in the visual arts led her to study various painting techniques and art appreciation techniques and materials at the National School of Painting and Engraving (La Esmeralda) (INBA) in Mexico City; painting techniques at Phoenix College in Arizona and Harbor College in California, as well as encaustic workshops with Barbara Ellman in New York City, among others.
