ARTIST STATEMENT

While working on this piece, I got lost in the blending of the background colors. The more layers of the paint and paint pens, the richer the visual depth became. The more contrast between the values, the more the logo began to pop away from the dark murky background. The wonderful thing about this process is that it doesn’t matter how many layers of paint are applied, it all lifts off beautifully.

Parchment paper, light fusible web, organza, metallic acrylic paint, markers, paint pens, water-soluble ink block, wool batting, cotton backing
