ARTIST STATEMENT

Living on coral reefs, hunting by day, Octopus cyanea (also known as the big blue octopus) is adept at camouflage, able to change color frequently. It has been observed to change its appearance 1,000 times in seven hours. As it moves across the seabed it makes changes in its coloring and appearance to match the substrate beneath. Who is the influencer here, octopus or flora?
