Mônica Lóss
Expanded Interior is a hands-on textile workshop, guided by visual artist Mônica Lóss, in which participants are encouraged to reframe textiles not as waste, but as carriers of memory, stories, and emotional connections. Through simple hand-sewing techniques and intuitive making, participants will transform reused fabrics into small soft sculptures.
Esther Gamez
In this workshop, Esther will teach basic visible mending techniques to “heal” a garment. Attendants have the choice of bringing their own garment to be mended or embellishing a patch of fabric to be sewn onto a garment later. Visible mending not only prolongs the life of a garment but is also a statement against over-consumption.
Adriana Fuentes
In this experiential textile workshop, Adriana invites participants to explore the metaphor of the tree as a symbol of grounding, resilience, and emotional well-being to create a mixed-media textile piece representing their personal “roots”- the people, memories, and values that sustain them.
Sarah Lewis
In this textile workshop, participants will learn a simple Japanese kumihimo braiding technique and create a wearable bracelet using curated thread bundles and foam braiding discs. The process is rhythmic, structured, and meditative; it emphasizes the calming power of repetitive hand movement and tactile engagement.
