First Friday: Support our First Friday program by coming to the museum and supporting our special craft or activity and connecting with visitors over our current exhibit. Volunteers are needed the First Friday of every month from 5 to 8 pm.
Special Events: Volunteers play an important role in supporting our special events by helping lead a craft, donating snacks or treats, and setting up/tearing down chairs and tables. This is a great opportunity for individuals with evening and weekend availability.
Veranda Sale: Support our annual summer Veranda Sale by offering day-of event support, set-up/tear-down assistance, or donation collecting and bundling.
Docent Guide: Facilitate group tours providing education and guided discussion about the artwork. Shifts take place during museum open hours, Wednesday-Saturday between 10 am to 4 pm.
Installation: Help install new artwork during our exhibition transitions. Skills include: climbing a ladder, inserting nails, careful management of artwork. Shifts take place during the daytime on weekdays.
Education: Support our Liberty School program teaching 4th grade students how to do self-portrait quilts and/or support community engagement crafting. Shifts vary between weekdays, weekends, evenings, and daytime hours.
Welcome Desk: Welcome museum visitors, share about the museum, and ring up store sales. Shifts are available Wednesday-Saturday between 10 am and 4 pm.
Other: Do you have a specific skillset that you think might benefit the museum? We are currently looking for volunteers with store inventory and videography experience but may have additional needs in the future. Let us know how you’d like to support, and we will reach out to you if there’s a need that fits your skillset!
Community members play a critical role in supporting our committees by providing perspective, expertise, and support to our team and board. Committee involvement is based on availability and expertise gaps. If you are interested in supporting a committee, please let us know which one you are interested in and we will reach out with more information.
